The British event organizer Informa PLC expects the China event industry to recover by 2024, the company announced when it published its 2022 figures, Market Watch reports. The first signs of recovery are expected already in 2023.
Market Watch:
The company said that the progressive removal of Covid-19 restrictions and strong rebound in business activity is accelerating Live & On-Demand Events schedule in China, with full return expected through 2024. Greater China typically accounts for around 20% or more of Informa Markets’ revenue and live events now look possible in 2023.
The schedule is in line with the pre-Covid-19 business practice at the China Speakers Bureau, as the preparation of the international conferences and other events easily takes up to six months. Typically, we see a lead time between getting requests for speakers and the event of between three to six months.
